Cafe Noir 15th Anniversary Party

Cafe Noir is celebrating its 15th anniversary and the signing of its lease extension at 32 Grand Street with a party tonight featuring a two-hour open bar and free tapas. From 6-8 p.m., drink for free, then enjoy two-for-one drink specials till closing. If you miss it, it certainly won't be your last chance to visit the restaurant: owner Georges Forgeois (who also owns Cercle Rouge, Jules Bistro, and Bar Tabac) has just signed a 10-year lease on the space.

What could be more satisfying on a chilly night than rustic Italian fare? Trattoria Cinque, in association with James Beard Foundation Greens, is hosting an Italian food and wine pairing dinner tonight at the restaurant. Executive chef Mirco Grassini will serve a pizza duo of Gorgonzola and Pear and Speck and Mushroom, as well as Rigatoni alla Gricia, Wild Boar Ragu, and Panettone Bread Pudding.

Wine authority W.R. Tish will be the host of this Cotes du Rhone wine pairing dinner. The four-course meal will feature wines from the Rhone valley in France, alongside a menu of Maine Lobster with Gingered Carrots and Vanilla, Wild Arctic Char with Escarole and Trumpet Mushrooms, and Spice Lacquered Long Island Duck Breast with Almonds, Figs, and Foie Gras.
