Meet Brooklyn's Historic Gastronomist, Sarah Lohman

Ever wonder what people were eating at the turn of the century? Brooklynite Sarah Lohman does every day. Her blog Four Pounds Flour chronicles her "retro-innovative" exploration of what people ate back in the day, from slave staples to French Huguenot desserts. Sound like the next big food blog-turned-cookbook deal? Um, yeah...

Get a taste of the good ol' days at Lohman's 18th Century Thanksgiving Cooking Demo at The Old Stone House in Park Slope this Sunday. The menu will include turkey with gravy, stewed squab, venison roast, sourdough bread, squash pudding, onions in cream, as well as plum pudding, apple tarts, and pumpkin pie for dessert. The event is free, and Lohman will be passing around tasting samples, so come all thee hungry.
