More Chef Progeny Enter New York Restaurant Industry

The ranks of chef progeny who enter the restaurant industry just grew a little bigger: Diner's Journal reports that Jean-George Vonghericten's daughter, Louise, has been made the junior manager at her dad's Mercer Kitchen. She's in good company --

Marc Forgione, son of Larry, has been making a name for himself at his eponymous Tribeca restaurant for the past year and a half. Keith McNally's daughter Sophie does PR for his restaurants. Kurt Gutenbrunner's 19-year-old son, Benjamin, is the general manager at Cafe Sabarsky, where he's been known to woo girls with pieces of cake. And, of course, Louise's brother, Cedric, has been the executive chef at Jean-Georges's Perry Street kitchen since August. The family that sautees together, stays together.
