A New Venezuelan Restaurant for First Avenue?

The corner of East 4th Street and First Avenue may be getting a new Venezuelan restaurant: The facade of the former Ishikura Sushi, which closed in July, has now been painted and features a sign that says, "Guayoyo is coming soon!"

While no other information was forthcoming, a search of the name turned up the website of the Venezuelan coffee company Cafe Imperial, whose glossary defines "guayoyo" as "a poorly concentrated coffee infusion" also known as "guarapo", "guarapete" or "guarusa." Menupages lists seven Venezuelan restaurants throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn (though it omits the Arepas Cafe in Long Island City), so it's not as if we're suffering from a surfeit of arepas, though Caracas Arepa Bar, three blocks north on East 7th Street, might disagree.
