2011 Bocuse d'Or Finalists Announced This Afternoon

The organizers of the Bocuse d'Or, otherwise known throughout the dining world as the culinary Olympics, announced the 12 semi-finalists for the 2011 U.S. team earlier this afternoon at Daniel. Each semi-finalist, avec sous chef, will compete against one another in February at the Culinary Institute of America's Hyde Park campus for the chance represent the U.S. at the competition, which will take place in Lyon. The list of lucky dozen follows after the jump.

Kevin Gillespie, Atlanta (best known as Top Chef's great bearded hope)
James Kent, New York, Eleven Madison Park
Michael Klauss, Vermont
Mark Lieberman, Florida
Christopher Parson, Winchester, Mass.
Jennifer Petrusky, Chicago
John Rella, New York
Jeremy Thomzac, New York, instructor at the French Culinary Institute
Percey Watley, California
Andrew Weiss, Las Vegas
