Revised: Fork in the Road Visual Dim Sum Dictionary
Reader Dimsummer has helped us revise our original dim sum visual dictionary. We are publishing it now to aid in your assault upon dim sum parlors like Dun Huang and East Harbor (see below).

Fo tiao qing, braised pork tendon
Not long ago, Counter Culture polished its chopsticks and headed out to what was then the city's best dim sum palace, East Harbor, on the southern frontier of Sunset Park's Chinatown. The Fork in the Road staff found that the perfect opportunity to launch our Visual Dim Sum Dictionary using photos taken at the restaurant. It is intended to be a resource for identification and enjoyment of dim sum. But we consider this a work in progress--please let us know further names, in English and Chinese, and we'll add to (and correct) the dictionary, so that we may develop a common dim sum vocabulary. Photos welcome, too. We will periodically republish updated versions of this picture collection.
