Were you getting ready to can that old Motorola Razr? Before you do, check out the Cell Phones for Food campaign launched by The 4th Bin and City Harvest. Simply send them your old cell phones by mail. Starting next year, The 4th Bin will even come to you to pick up old mobile equipment. All proceeds go to City Harvest, which rescues excess food from restaurants and markets to donate to the city's hungry.
City Harvest shot this PSA on an iPhone to demonstrate just how much food is wasted everyday: some 270,000 pounds to be exact. Let's just hope all those apples got donated.
