New Year's Eve at Spice Market
Jean-Georges Vongerichten's Spice Market is hosting a New Year's Eve bash complete with a choice of appetizers (from roasted Peekytoe crab dumplings to black pepper shrimp), main courses (such as Halibut Cha Ca La Vong), and a dessert of green apple cobbler with Saigon cinnamon ice cream. Tickets are $128-$148, which includes a flute of Champagne for the midnight toast, as well as party favors, noisemakers, and dancing till the wee hours.
New Year's Eve Omakase at Zenkichi
Williamsburg's cavernous Japanese tavern, Zenkichi, is hosting a New Year's Eve Omakase featuring such delicacies as shirako (cod milt), Kumamoto oysters, honey-roasted soy duck, and lobster gratin. The early seating ($65) starts at 6 p.m., while the later one ($85), starting at 9:30 p.m., includes a midnight Champagne toast.
New Year's Eve at Industria Argentina
Industria Argentina is bucking the New Year's Eve trend and offering special prices on their regular menu without a prix-fixe option. Priced from $12-$29, these include Maine lobster grilled on Argentinean parrilla; a Trio de Pato, or duck three ways, featuring a duck confit empanada, smoked duck over quinoa risotto, and duck liver pate on a garlic toast; and a slow-roasted leg of pork served with warm golden apples and caramelized onions.
