Target Will No Longer Sell Farmed Salmon

Target will target wild, not farmed salmon.

Target announced yesterday that it will no longer sell farmed salmon, be it fresh, frozen, or smoked.

Citing the environmental problems associated with farmed salmon, the store said in a press release that it will switch to using wild Alaskan salmon in both its own and national brands. Target also plans to make the farmed-to-wild switch in its sushi by 2010, which begs the question of what it's doing selling sushi in the first place, and who in their right mind actually buys it.
