Mmmm... Hot, yellow Jamaican patties.
If you live in Brooklyn, you're probably familiar with the bright yellow stores -- and patties -- of Golden Krust Caribbean Bakery. The Jamaican-owned chain, which also has locations in the Bronx, Queens, and Manhattan, is the biggest Caribbean chain in the country, and is hoping to get even bigger.

The founder and CEO, Lowell Hawthorne, left his job as an accountant with the NYPD to start the company 20 years ago. Golden Krust now has 120 stores in nine states and, per the Jamaica Observer, is planning to open another 250 locations within the next five years. The company is eying cities in Canada and Europe with large Jamaica communities.
