Jean-Georges's ABC Kitchen Will "Do What Alice Waters Did in the 1970s"

Jean-Georges will do Alice Waters, homemade yogurt included.
Mouthing Off has a preview of ABC Kitchen, Jean-Georges Vongerichten's soon-to-open cafe at ABC Carpet and Home.

The roughly 150-seat spot will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and will include a juice bar. Vongerichten's attempting to source all his ingredients from within 100 miles, and says that the menu, which is still being developed, will comprise simple dishes that will change daily -- the goal, he tells Mouthing Off's Emily Kaiser, is "to do what Alice Waters did in the 1970s." And to prove he's serious, his chef de cuisine, Dan Kluger, is going to make his own yogurt. Which, of course, will be served on locally-sourced plates made by a childhood friend of ABC's CEO.
