Marcus Samuelsson May Be Opening a New Restaurant in Harlem

samuelssonmarcus.jpg
Last year, Marcus Samuelsson pulled out of his now-closed Ethiopian restaurant, Merkato 55, published a well-received cookbook, New American Table, and cheffed President Obama's state dinner for the prime minister of India. Yesterday, Paper Magazine reported that Samuelsson is opening a new restaurant in Harlem, where the chef lives.

A representative at the Samuelsson group confirmed that a restaurant is in the works but would not confirm a concept or location, citing worries that the information would change before the new project gets off the ground. We'll check back in a month or so, and keep you posted.
