New Tiki Bar from Dutch Kills Vets [UPDATED]

Good news for tiki-lovers: Mouthing Off reports that two of the owners of Long Island City's Dutch Kills, Giuseppe Gonzalez and Richard Boccato, will be opening a tiki bar at 49 Essex Street in March.

The bar will be called Painkiller, after the cocktail of the same name, which we shook up during our at-home tiki experiments.
The bar will reportedly combine "1970s New York culture and 1940s tiki culture," a puzzling concept, but one that sounds fun nonetheless.
UPDATE: Giuseppe Gonzalez only worked at Dutch Kills for four months before going over to Painkiller. He was never a co-owner.
