Roberta's to Slap Around Some Meatballs This Friday

Picture 14.png
Back in November, Roberta's announced it would be starting its own rooftop farm, to be named Brooklyn Grange. And to do that, the restaurant needs to raise some cash. So on Friday, it's throwing a Meatball Slapdown.

Hosted by the Meat Hook and the Brooklyn Kitchen, the slapdown -- not to be confused with any of Matt Timms' myriad smackdowns -- will see chefs from Roberta's, Frankie's Spuntino, Bamonte's, Roebling Tea Room, and, of course, the Meat Hook go ball to ball to compete for the designation of Brooklyn's no. 1 meatball.

The festivities, which also include pasta, DJs, and so-called celebrity judges, will commence this Friday at 8 p.m.; all proceeds from the tickets, which are $50 in advance and $75 at the door, will go to Brooklyn Grange Farm.
