Sommelier Swap at the Michael White/Chris Cannon Empire
Sommelier Eric Zillier, the wine director at Alto, will be leaving the restaurant in March to pursue other opportunities. Levi Dalton, who currently heads up the wine program at sister restaurant Convivio, is set to take over at Alto.

Zillier is responsible for selecting some 2,500 wines for Alto's extensive list. The restaurant won Wine Spectator's Grand Award, its highest honor, in 2008 for "an uncompromising, passionate devotion to the quality of the wine program."
As for the wine list at Michael White's new Soho restaurant, it will, like the food menu, focus on the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy, where White completed his training as a chef.
