The Doughnut Plant's delectables will soon be available in Chelsea.
Yes, the rumors are true: the Doughnut Plant is opening its second New York location in the Chelsea Hotel.

The Feed spoke with the Plant's owner, Mark Israel, who confirmed that he'll open a 700-square-foot shop just off the hotel's lobby sometime in the spring. Israel will make doughnuts at both the new store and the original, 10-year-old flagship on Grand Street, and is planning to carry his usual cake and yeast varieties, as well as cinnamon buns, churros, and some "surprise" items. He'll also be serving espresso.

The shop, which will -- bless! -- have seating, will be the Doughnut Plant's 28th outpost -- there are already 27 located throughout Asia. Israel, who's proving himself as much an empire-builder as Danny Meyer and Michael Huynh, is also planning to open a location in Washington, D.C.
