What Was Once the Falls Will Become Michael White's Newest Restaurant

A few weeks ago, word surfaced that Michael White was looking to bring his rather splendid brand of Italian cooking downtown to Soho. Now, Eater brings news from White himself that he will indeed be taking over the former Falls space on Lafayette Street.
White tells Eater that his new restaurant will be a casual "rustic trattoria" without booths or reservations, and with a standing room lounge up front. White describes the restaurant as "risky," but on the face of it, it seems that a Soho restaurant from one of the country's most esteemed Italian chefs is a lot less of a gamble than a bar best-known for for the rape and murder of one of its patrons.
