Cathy Erway appears on Good Day New York on the morning of the book release party.

Cathy Erway's new book The Art of Eating In was officially released yesterday, and she engaged in a welter of personal appearances before coming to ground in the early evening at a book party held at The Bell House in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Food was provided by two dining clubs, Hapa Kitchen and A Razor, A Shiny Knife, and ran to cheeseburger spring rolls, little nuggets of fried lard, spicy stuffed eggs, and sake-marinated tofu in crisp wonton-wrapper cups.

The gals from Word bookstore in Greenpoint were ready with a table full of books for sale.

In addition to the dining club hors d'oeuvres, guests were regaled with crostini produced by 12 competitors in a throwdown. One of the judges was Erway's mother Tina. A deejay provided music throughout, and a jazz combo appeared later. After the judging, the guests descended on the crostini (each competitor had been advised to make 100).
