The Brooklyn Star hopes to shine again.
Joaquin Baca's Brooklyn Star was shuttered last month due to a fire that ravaged the Williamsburg restaurant. A notice on the website promised a reopening after "a spell," but reconstruction is proving a pricier affair than expected. On March 26, Baca hopes to raise enough funds to help him reopen his Southern-flavored hot spot with a "Hot Hot Hootenanny" benefit party to be held at The Meat Hook. Expect deep-fried Dixieland favorites and "actual carnival games" at this fundraising event.
