More pad thai for the Upper East Side.
It's not often that Manhattan gets a Staten Island import -- Artichoke has been the only place in recent memory to even vaguely fit the bill -- but that isn't stopping Talay Thai from making grand plans to tear it up in Yorkville. Crain's reports that the family-run restaurant has signed a 10-year lease for a 2,300-square-foot space on First Avenue near East 95th Street. Its new location, which previously housed the bar Wild Spirits (and before that, Hogs & Heifers), will be called Andaman, and the owners expect it to open within the next four to six months.
