Time has spit out its annual Time 100 list, and managed to make room on it for a few people concerned with what we put in our pie holes.

David Chang, who's listed in the "Artists" category, gets an adoring paean from Ruth Reichl ("what he's feeding is an appetite for adventure"), while Michael Pollan's canonization comes courtesy of Alice Waters, who was "Pollanized" into never using another morsel of grain-fed beef at her restaurant.

Also on the list: Temple Grandin, who has done pioneering work with the meat industry to make slaughterhouses more humane, and recently got her very own made-for-TV biopic starring Claire Danes; and Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Kathleen Merrigan, who gets a tribute written by Dan Barber, himself a Time 100 alum.

In addition to feting Chang, Reichl had the dubious honor of seeing Gourmet make Time's Least Influential People of 2010 roster for folding despite the fact that "the country is obsessed with food." Oof.
