La Petite Crevette will get a boozy new neighbor.
Carroll Gardens locals and visitors to Neil Ganic's La Petite Crevette will have no doubt come across the coffee shop located down the block from the miniscule seafood restaurant, which is located above the BQE on Hicks Street. Ganic seems to have noticed it, too: he's planning to turn it into a wine bar at night.

Lost City reports that the owners of the Coffee Den, which sits on the border of Red Hook and Carroll Gardens, have left the cafe, and that the building's landlord, who lives upstairs, will collaborate with Ganic to turn the place into a wine bar at night.

Ganic's previous two ventures in the neighborhood, Annabelle's and Bouillabaisse 126 -- didn't enjoy great longevity, so a more modest venture, located next door to La Petite Crevette, which has become a neighborhood stalwart since opening in 2006, makes good sense. A glass or two of wine will undoubtedly keep waiting diners happy -- and hopefully prevent further alleged lobster-throwing episodes.
