Terroir Tribeca Opens Tonight

Terroir, the East Village wine bar that Our Man Sietsema famously found overrated, is getting a sibling in Tribeca, opening tonight.

The new place's wine list, compiled by owner Paul Grieco, will have a similar personality to the existing one in the East Village, although in Tribeca, two wines will be on tap, shipped in and dispensed from kegs. That's because kegs are more eco-friendly, cutting down on waste (bottles) and shipping weight.

The biggest change is the new location's larger kitchen, where chef Marco Canora will have more room to cook. New menu items hit the zeitgeist hard: fried meatballs, veal panini, and a veal-and-ricotta meatball sandwich. Lovers of Terroir's pork steak may want to try the lamb steak at the new location.
