Cortelyou Road continues to evolve into one of Brooklyn's most intriguing dining strips: in addition to Tibetan, Filipino, Israeli, American seasonal, and Japanese cuisine, it's about to start serving Egyptian food.

Ditmas Park Blog reports that a former deli space on Cortelyou is in the process of being renovated to become a new espresso bar-market owned by some Egyptian restaurateurs. It will be called Qathra, which is Arabic for "drop," and in addition to Egyptian food it will also serve Crop to Cup coffee, sandwiches, and pastries.
