Kiss these grits.
Matt Timms has announced the next installment in his series of amateur cooking Takedowns -- and it's Grits. The event will take place June 27 at the Tobacco Warehouse in DUMBO as part of the NYC Food Film Festival. A little pricier than former Takedowns, tickets are $35, and include access to a screening of Stan Woodward's classic food film, It's Grits!

Prospective competitors can still enter; each will get a complimentary 10-pound supply of Quaker grits and basic ingredients from Organic Valley to play with. Some 30 different amateur cooks are expected to enter. Attendees will get to pair their grits with Dallis Coffee, with extras from Bubby's Dumbo and Organic Valley.
