Open & Closed: Say Hello to Anfora, Goodbye to Rico

Restaurants and bars, they come and they go. Here are a few making their debuts and bowing out this week.

East Village hookah joint Rico has been served with an eviction notice. The place closed previously for about two months back in 2008.

The team behind Dell'anima has opened a new West Village wine bar called Anfora. Expect biodynamic, organic, and natural wines alongside whiskeys, grappas, and beer.

Penny Farthing has opened in the Third Avenue space formerly occupied by Café Deville. The menu features quesadillas, buffalo wings, burgers, and apple pie.

The managers from now-defunct Bonita are debuting Cariño Restaurant and Cantina, specializing in fish tacos, as well as bar snacks and margaritas upon liquor license approval.

Marmara is a new Turkish restaurant serving the usual -- hummus and marinated octopus, grilled lamb, and fish dishes, as well as lahmajun, a type of Turkish pizza.

Seersucker is being opened by an alum of Le Cirque and Tabla. The focus is Southern favorites like pimento cheese, fried bologna sandwiches, and chicken and dumplings.
