Restaurants and bars, they come and they go. Here are a few making their debuts and bowing out this week.

Lucy Browne's, the restaurant that replaced Steak Frites last summer, has closed. The owner, Andrew Silverman, filed for bankruptcy in February.

Pinch & S'Mac, the Upper West Side combo of the pizza and mac 'n' cheese joints, has closed. The team behind it will open a classic Italian restaurant called Grandma's.

A new Sardinian place, River Deli, has opened in Brooklyn Heights. It will serve its charcuterie-and-cheese platter on taglieri: imported handmade wooden trays.

B.E.S. is a new brunch spot whose initials stand for Boutique Eat Shop. Among other things, it will serve a P.B. & Bacon Sandwich.

Leona's, the reinvention of the Helmsley Hotel restaurant named for the notoriously mean hotelier, features seasonal cooking from Brian Wieler, formerly of Gotham Bar & Grill.

Rabbit in the Moon is classy new West Village spot done up like an English manor. Sip Earl Grey martinis with gourmet bangers and mash.

Mercato, a new trattoria on West 39th Street, will specialize in traditional Puglian fare, like fish stew, pasta gratin, and porchetta.

Le Pain Quotidien is opening a new location in Central Park, as well as another in Battery Park. The Central Park branch will eventually serve vegetarian dinners. [NY Times]
