Amato Opera House Will Probably Become a Bar

Judging by next month's Community Board SLA agenda, it looks like the Amato Opera House is going to become a bar. The owners of V Bar, a West Village watering hole, have applied for a new liquor license for the space, which was home to the opera house from 1964 until 2009. Another bar on the Bowery? How very novel. Also, the East 5th Street home of the ill-fated Butcher Bay and Seymour Burton looks like it will next house a restaurant called the Tin Lizard. Plus, Teany wants to start serving wine, and a flooring supplies store at 61 Delancey may be turned into a new restaurant with the ungainly moniker of Berkli Parc.
