Calexico Is Expanding to Greenpoint

Not even a year after they opened their first storefront on the Carroll Gardens-Red Hook border, Calexico's owners are planning a northward expansion to Greenpoint.

The Brooklyn Paper reports that Jesse Vendley and Peter Oleyer are planning to open a new location on Manhattan Avenue near Bedford Avenue, in a space formerly occupied by La Brique, a Spanish restaurant.The menu will be identical to that in Calexico's original location, but with a few additions; if all goes according to plan, the restaurant will open sometime in August.
