Food Curated Makes the Case for West Coast Oysters

Categories: Marx

Oysters loom large on the list of East Coast-West Coast rivalries, but Liza de Guia's latest Food Curated video seeks to add a voice of reason to the ongoing argument. It comes from Nellie Wu, the general manager of Brooklyn's W&T Seafood, whom de Guia accompanies out to an oyster farm in Washington State. According to Wu, "amazing product doesn't just come from the East Coast. It can come from anywhere, but specifically for oysters, it's the Pacific Northwest." Further, she argues that oysters from the region are just as sustainable as those driven down from Maine, and that "there's a West Coast oyster for everybody." After watching her slurp down about a dozen of them, we're inclined to agree.
