Former Allen & Delancey Will Become Mary Queen of Scots

Delancey Street will get the royal treatment.
The fate of the former Allen & Delancey space has finally been decided: It will become home to Mary Queen of Scots, the second restaurant from the team behind the Scottish gastropub Highlands.

Eater reports that the Highlands team had their liquor license approved at last night's Community Board 3 meeting, and plan to start gut-renovating the space on July 1. Highlands' Brian McGrory described the restaurant as more of a brasserie than a gastropub, and said that the menu from Highlands chef Will Hickox and a recent El Bulli alum will showcase "the best of Scottish produce." Meaning that there's a possibility that haggis will soon be consumed on Delancey Street for the first time in recorded history.
