Some 10 months after it transformed P.S.1 into a roiling cauldron of smoking meat, interminable waits, and misplaced drink tickets, Le Fooding has announced its lineup for this year's festivities.

SFGate brings word that the festival's savvy French organizers have decided to exploit the somewhat contrived East Coast-West Coast rivalry for this year's incarnation, which will return to P.S.1 on September 24 and 25.

Representing New York will be David Chang, Dan Barber, Nate Appleman, Torrisi's Mario Carbone, Seersucker's Bob Newton, and Vinegar Hill House's Brian Leth.

Representing San Francisco will be Daniel Patterson (Coi, Plum, Cane Rosso), Mourad Lahlou (Aziza), Jeremy Fox (Plum), Melissa Perello (Frances), and James Syhabout (Commis).

Bartenders will also battle it out, with PDT's Jim Meehan squaring off against Rickhouse's Erick Castro.

And just for kicks, April Bloomfield and DB Bistro Moderne's Laurent Kalkotour will be slinging burgers made with French cheese.

Six out of the 12 chefs will be cooking each night; tickets go on sale in August.
