Leonard Lopate Will Host a Cooking Smackdown
Matt Timms and the Food Experiment guys aren't the only ones with makeshift cooking competitions on the brain: On June 15, WNYC's Leonard Lopate will host the Great Lopate Hot Plate Cook-Off, in which Jacques Pepin and Michael Nischan will square off using only hot plates and cookware. Lidia Bastianich will judge the results, and Aldo Sohm, Le Bernardin's sommelier, will be on hand to hold blind taste tests of red and white wines. A Grammy Award-winning cellist, Sarah Sant'Ambrogio, will provide musical accompaniment. What, you were expecting Monster Magnet?
