Happy Hour at Ofrenda: Free Botanas, $5 Margaritas, $4.50 Mexican Beer
As of today, the city has officially gone World Cup crazy. Ah, oh yes, there will be drink specials. The good news is that happy hour has been shifted to whenever there's a game on, be it Monday morning at 10 or Friday at 7:30 p.m. Ofrenda is offering soccer fans free botanas with each drink purchase during matches. Its regular happy hour, every day from 3 to 7 p.m., brings wine, sangria, Bloody Marias, and margaritas, all for $5. Mexican beer is $4.50.

Oh, what luck: In the first match of the World Cup, South Africa, the host country, is pitted against Mexico. Eyes were glued to the set and gentle curses mumbled as El Tri dominated the greater part of the game, yet failed to match South Africa's goal. Finally, it came in the 79th minute. Rafael Marquez scored the equalizer, and the bar cried out in unison. That's right, folks. This is soccer, and ties are something to get excited about. But they aren't enough to earn the house a round. However, should Equipo Azteca beat its next rival, there will be free drinks for everyone.
