The Little Bird Brings More Vegan Treats to the East Village

Boomtown Bakery isn't the only vegan dessert purveyor making inroads into Lower Manhattan: EV Grieve reports that the Little Bird Cafe is now selling vegan cookies, granola, and assorted baked goods on Avenue B near 11th Street. The owner, Joanna Troccoli, previously sold her wares through coffee shops like Gimme! and Jack's, and hopes to get a license to start selling organic beer and wine. Between this, BabyCakes, Tully's, Stogo, Lula's Sweet Apothecary, and Boomtown, the neighborhood's beginning to look like a utopia for those who crave sugar as voraciously as they shun animal products.
