Back in March, Doma Café owner Evie Polesny told us that she'd hired Barocco vet Daniel Mateo to create a new menu for the café, which has been a fixture on Perry Street since 2002. Just a few months later, Mateo is gone, replaced by two new chefs who will officially launch their new menu this Friday.

Polesny tells us that Doma has embarked on a "new chef adventure" with Zachary Frankel and Ben Cavar. Frankel, who cooked at Marlow & Sons, and Cavar, an alum of Public, have been friends since they were eight-year-olds growing up on the Upper West Side. Polesny says they've revamped the day menu and describes the nighttime menu as "seasonally and locally focused" contemporary American, with everything cooked on induction burners.

The café itself has also received a bit of a facelift: It now sports a small wine bar and, in the evenings, table service.
