Tales From Tales of the Cocktail: Death & Co. Is America's Best Bar
Tales of the Cocktail, the annual convention for what has come to be known as mixology, culminated in the Spirited Awards ceremony held at the Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans on Saturday night. The theme was Mad Men, which meant that bartenders and spirits industry folks from around the country and beyond donned their best Don Draper- and Joan Holloway-inspired duds for the event.

So, how did New York bars and their respective tenders fare?
As usual, New York was quite well represented among the winners. Death & Co. took Best American Cocktail Bar, beating out Brooklyn's Clover Club, as well as Rickhouse in San Francisco and the Varnish in L.A. Death & Co. also won for World's Best Cocktail Menu, while tequila-and-mezcal mecca Mayahuel was named World's Best New Cocktail Bar.
