New York's Cheap Eats Issue

Out today is New York's Cheap Eats issue, wherein Robin Raisfeld and Rob Patronite round up the year's myriad developments in (mostly) affordable eating. They've got your burgers, your new-wave Asian (Fatty 'Cue, Baohaus, Umi Nom, et al.), your vegetarian, your noodles, fried chicken, and so on.

But the most interesting reading in the issue can be found in the section focusing on chefs' favorite cheap spots in their own neighborhoods. Sara Jenkins of Porchetta eats at Agnanti and Seva in Astoria; the General Greene's Julie Farias is partial to Mrs. Kim's, Peter Pan Donut, and Karczma in Greenpoint; Francis Garcia of Artichoke and Marcus Samuelsson of the soon-to-open Red Rooster also list their picks.

We're partial to bargain bites ourselves. Check out our catalog of Incredibly Cheap Eats.
