Ben Flanner will cook his crops at Cabrito.

Although he's got one of the city's greenest thumbs, Ben Flanner also apparently knows his way around the kitchen: next Monday, August 30, Brooklyn Grange's head farmer will be descending from his rooftop acre in Long Island City to get behind the burners at Cabrito. He and chef David Schuttenberg will serve a special menu featuring produce from Brooklyn Grange, including salsas made with the farm's 40-plus varieties of cherry and heirloom tomatoes. Ten percent of the proceeds from the dishes will be donated to Brooklyn Grange, a farm-to-table-to-farm movement if ever there was one.
