Win a trip to this slope-y, geologically suspect metropolis.
Hoarding your artisanal pickles for yourself and your friends? Have a killer bit of handcrafted charcuterie you've been waiting to unveil to the world? Well, today's your day: The San Francisco Chronicle announced the first annual Good Food Awards, a national competition for those in the business of crafting food, with a deadline of September 15.

Competition categories include charcuterie, coffee, beer, pickles, cheese, preserves, and chocolate, and a skim of the judges reveals some well-known food world personalities: "Ruth Reichl, Nell Newman and Paul Bertolli; chefs from the legendary Chez Panisse, food writers from Sunset Magazine and The San Francisco Chronicle, James Beard and IACP winning cookbook authors; judges from the Cup of Excellence and World Barista Championship." Winners snag a trip to San Francisco, where the judging is based, for themselves and a plus-one, and the opportunity to label their food "Good Food Award Winner."

Unfortunately, the position of "Pickle Judge" is no longer available.
