Harold Dieterle to Open Contemporary Thai Eatery in West Village This Fall

Annnd we were right: Former Top Chef winner and Perilla co-owner Harold Dieterle is indeed opening a restaurant in the former Philippe Chow Express space. The Times reports it will serve "contemporary Thai fare in a casual setting."

It's an interesting move from the man behind a primarily New American eatery, but as Flo Fab points out, reviewers have noticed Dieterle's occasional Asian touches, and Perilla's name is synonymous with shiso, a Japanese herb. Kin Shop will open at Sixth Avenue and 12th Street sometime this fall.
