5 & Diamond's New Chef Is David Martinez
Two weeks after word surfaced that David Santos had left the kitchen at 5 & Diamond, the restaurant's owners have announced his replacement. Grub Street reports that David Martinez, an FCI grad and Aureole and Bouley alum, has taken over at the Harlem restaurant.

Martinez has already revamped the menu, which when it premieres tonight will feature such dishes as sea scallops with watermelon, green curry broth, and shrimp crisp; Berkshire pork tenderloin with Applewood smoked bacon, sweet corn, wild mushrooms, and black mission figs; and the grilled sepia, or cuttlefish, that Sarah loved so much when she first reviewed the restaurant.
