Lost to many people during the late-Friday-afternoon exodus out of the city was Diner's Journal's news that Amanda Freitag was leaving the Harrison, the restaurant where she had cooked for three years.

After Freitag departs, Jimmy Bradley, who opened the Harrison with Danny Abrams in 2001 (the two ended their partnership in 2006, and Bradley got sole ownership of the Harrison and the Red Cat), will take over the kitchen.

While Bradley told the Times he was looking forward to returning to the kitchen, Freitag subsequently told Eater that he was "never the chef at The Harrison. It was Joey [Campanaro], it was Brian [Bistrong], and then it was myself. ... I don't want it to go unnoticed what I did there, that I put it back on people's radar. We re-energized that restaurant. We created so many regulars."

There's no word yet on what Freitag will do next, though she has had recent TV appearances on Iron Chef and Chopped. As for Bradley, he's said he'll also renegotiate the Harrison's lease and give its menu a makeover.
