Andrew Carmellini Christens His New Restaurant the Dutch
"The word itself doesn't really mean anything...The word kind of evokes what we're doing. We wanted this to be a neighborhood restaurant. I wanted to do this American thing that I've been thinking about forever." -- Andrew Carmellini explaining to Diner's Journal the name behind his new venture in the old Cub Room space. He also described the moniker as "a little bit old school, a little bit O.G., a little bit Damon Runyonesque, maybe." Also, the restaurant will have matchbooks.![]()
