The Next Big Small Brand Contest Returns to Fuel Dreams of Artisanal Glory

A year after it helped propel Kombucha Brooklyn into the artisanal niche-marketing stratosphere, the Next Big Small Brand Contest is back.

The contest, per its website, will offer "enterprising individuals who show great culinary promise a chance to win all the ingredients needed to launch their brand into food superstardom."

That means that the winner will receive branding and design services from Rooster Design Group, a one-month vendor spot at the Brooklyn Flea, and three months' worth of free PR services. Last year's winnings seem to have worked out pretty well for Kombucha Brooklyn, which now sells its fermented tea in specialty and health-nut stores throughout the city and state.

This year's judges include Gramercy Tavern's Michael Anthony, the Flea's Eric Demby, and Kombucha founder Eric Childs; for application guidelines and deadlines, head over here.
