Taro Sushi's New Flatbush Avenue Outpost Is Open

tarflatbush.png
Earlier this month, we were excited to learn that Taro Sushi, a much-loved, miniscule Park Slope fixture, was expanding to a larger location on the corner of Flatbush Avenue and St. Marks Place. The restaurant projected a late-September opening, and according to Here's Park Slope, it has come to pass.

The blog reports Taro's 12-seat sushi bar and adjacent dining room are now open for business, serving a menu that's freighted with both raw fish and the less mainstream delicacies like natto and monkfish liver that helped to build the original restaurant's reputation. The original restaurant, by the way, is now closed, and even though we're happy that the owners now have more space, we're already feeling a little nostalgic for the bygone days of cheerful, wasabi-scented claustrophobia.
