The Best Thing I Ate Yesterday
Welcome to The Best Thing I Ate Yesterday, where we endeavor to remember the very best thing we stuffed down our gullets over the past 24 hours. Why? Because the only thing better than enjoying a meal is wallowing in the memory of one savored in the recent past.
Today's fond reminiscences ...
Chantal Martineau: A slightly stale but still rather delicious margherita pizza with basil -- carried home on the plane from Naples. Far more peppery and herbaceous than what you'd get here (which made up for the staleness).
Robert Sietsema: Artichoke antipasta from Emily's Pork Store (426 Graham Ave, Williamsburg, Brooklyn, 718-383-7216).
Jesse Hirsch: Mildly spicy fingerling potatoes in oil at Acqua Santa (556 Driggs Avenue, Williamsburg, Brooklyn, 718-384-9695).
Rebecca Marx: Roasted cauliflower with tahini sauce, made from a recipe in Sara Jenkins' Olives and Oranges.
