Now that he's successfully shepherded the 2011 Michelin Guide into its much-trumpeted existence, Jean-Luc Naret has announced that he'll be moving on.

Diner's Journal reports that Naret, who has been the guide's director since 2004, will leave his job at the end of the year. During his tenure, Naret expanded the guide outside of Europe, making it a presence in both the United States and Asia. He'll oversee the publication of guides to San Francisco and Chicago before he retires, and will subsequently act as a consultant to Michelin.
