People's Pops is officially shutting down for the season in the coming weeks, but once it emerges from hibernation, it may be with its very own stand-alone storefront.

Joel Horowitz, who founded People's Pops with Nathalie Jordi and David Carrell, emailed us to say they're hoping to open a retail shop next spring. While the location and various other details have yet to be determined, Horowitz writes, "We're simply just super excited about growing even more in 2011!"

In the meantime, the company's Chelsea Market counter will close on October 15, and they'll shut down their booths at the Brooklyn Flea and New Amsterdam Market by the end of the month. And then and only then will summer be well and truly over.
