Beauty & Essex Takes Shape, Demolishes All Vestiges of Fine Furniture
Gone is the excellent M. Katz & Sons Fine Furniture sign that adorned the facade for so many years, replaced by a faux-school neon sign that will soon lure the crowds to Chris Santos's 10,000-square-foot, 300-seat follow-up to his nearby Stanton Social.
Calling the place a restaurant seems to miss the point a wee bit, as it will also contain two bars and a lounge, but whatever its correct designation, the state of its entranceway and the perpetual wall of trash bags outside its door suggest that it's going to be at least a few weeks longer until the place will open its doors to tristate-area trend pilgrims.
